District 18 is so fortunate to be one of the most diverse communities in the county and state. As the daughter of immigrants, and the proud spouse of one, Emily is deeply passionate about the need to stand with and protect our vibrant community from the attacks of the Trump Administration.
As a community organizer, Emily has been proud to work in coalition with groups like CASA de Maryland to advocate for issues that impact immigrants in our community. If elected, Emily would work to pass the Maryland Trust Act, which would ensure trust in our communities between law enforcement and everyone in our community, regardless of immigration status. She would also support efforts to reform the Maryland Dream Act, to ensure that the hundreds of beneficiaries of the program in our county are able to pursue their educational dreams.
Emily knows that our community is strongest when our diversity is harnessed, and a plurality of perspectives shapes our policy decision making. If elected, she will fight for policies to ensure that everyone, regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity, country of origin or immigration status, is able to contribute and thrive in our beautiful community.
